NEW! Download the MCAEL Teacher Toolkit
The MCAEL Teacher Toolkit is designed as a practical reference for instructors. This document was developed based on feedback from local instructors, and with the goal of supporting primarily beginner and untrained teachers. However, the toolkit includes information and resources for professionals at any level, and was designed in particular with the objective of cataloging practical web resources.
The toolkit contains ten chapters that provide an overview of basic concepts in teaching adult English language learners, including Second Language Acquisition;
Learner Needs Assessment; and Working with Multilevel Classes.
Each chapter is complemented with practical online resources, worksheets and tools as well as a bibliography for further reading.
We hope the toolkit provides a useful reference guide, and we welcome feedback at connect@mcael.org. Hard copies of the guide are also available at the MCAEL office; please contact us if you would like to receive copies.
