Funding for Technical Assistance and Coaching

MCAEL is pleased to announce the availability of funding for technical assistance and coaching for organizations that provide adult English literacy classes in Montgomery County.

Providers can request funding for:

a)      Technical assistance on a particular aspect of program administration (such as registration and intake, curriculum development, outreach, or assessment), or

b)      Coaching for an instructor who participated in the MCAEL Instructor Observation Program held in Fall 2016.

Each technical assistance or coaching award will be in the amount of $150 to offset or cover 3-4 hours of time of an experienced program manager or instructor who will serve as a consultant or coach, respectively.

·        This opportunity is available to all nonprofit adult ESOL provider organizations (with tax-exempt 501(c)(3) status) in Montgomery County.

·        The consultancy/coaching must be completed by March 31, 2018.

·        The provider may specify the individual whom they wish to have assist their organization; otherwise, MCAEL staff will assist with identifying an appropriate candidate.

·        Once the request is approved by MCAEL, the provider is responsible for coordinating directly with the consultant/coach to schedule meetings, etc., and to ensure that the consultancy or coaching is completed by the end of March 2018.

·        Award recipients are required to submit a brief report on the consultancy/coaching.

MCAEL will directly compensate the consultant, once the consultancy is completed and the report submitted.

Requests will be accepted on a rolling basis until November 10, 2017, 5:00 pm.  Please click here to complete the online request form.
