Defending Champ Social & Scientific Systems to Face Montgomery College, Bethesda Magazine, and Burness.

Rockville, MD – April 28, 2018 - The pressure is on for Social & Scientific Systems, Inc. to remain as the Spelling Bee Champion of Montgomery County when MCAEL hosts its Annual Grown-Up Spelling Bee fundraiser on May 2, 2018.

MCAEL Executive Director, Kathy Stevens, “Now more than ever, we need the whole community to bring their support to adults who want to learn English. Our workforce, schools, and communities depend on English proficiency. Support MCAEL now so we can grow from serving 15,000 adults each year to 21,000 adults in 2021.”

Participating celebrities include Kathleen Matthews, emcee of the event. Dr. Robin C. Barr, Linguist-in-Residence at American University, Washington DC, will serve as Pronouncer. This year’s z-a-n-y Timekeepers are Michael Bobbitt and Leon Seeman of Adventure Theater.

The Spelling Bee takes place Wednesday, May 2, 2018 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at AMP by Strathmore at 11810 Grand Park Ave, North Bethesda, MD. More information, ticket sales and sponsorships available at www.mcaelgrownupspellingbee.eventbrite.com.
